The Innovation Base of Disciplines for Computational Methods and Applications Based on the Integration of Mechanism and Data, an Innovation and Intelligence Program for Higher Education Disciplines ("111 project"), was approved for establishment in January 2023. It is built on the foundation of the School of Mathematics, Jilin University. Focusing on the cutting-edge field of mechanism and data integration computing, the base has gathered renowned overseas scholars from world-class universities and research institutions, including the University of Oxford, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, ETH Zurich, and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, to form an international high-level research team.
Rooted in the first-class development of the mathematics discipline, the base aims at the frontiers of international computational science, conducts basic theoretical research and cross-disciplinary innovative applications, promotes the in-depth integration of overseas high-level intellectual resources with domestic research teams, and strengthens organized scientific research and the cultivation of top talents. It will continue to devote itself to the innovation of computational methods, expand cross-disciplinary application scenarios, elevate the level of international cooperation and original innovation capacity of the mathematics discipline, and support the national goal of high-level self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology as well as the high-quality development of the mathematics discipline.
