Jilin Provincial International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Laboratory was approved for establishment by the Department of Science and Technology of Jilin Province in 2021. Relying on advantageous resources of mathematics at Jilin University, the laboratory focuses on the frontier fields of applied mathematics and computational mathematics. It has carried out in-depth international cooperation with top universities and research institutions from multiple countries, establishing an international system for scientific research and talent cultivation.
With computational modeling and numerical algorithms as its core research directions, the laboratory conducts studies on complex systems, mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence, computational modeling and numerical algorithms for partial differential equations (PDEs). It has undertaken a number of major national-level scientific research projects and tackled key technological bottlenecks such as the digitalization of aviation tires. Its research achievements have been widely applied in aerospace, satellites, chips, intelligent manufacturing and other fields. Relying on platforms including national first-class disciplines and the Jilin National Center for Applied Mathematics, the laboratory has gathered high-level national talents and realized the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.Moving forward, it will continue to deepen international collaboration and organized research, support the national strategy and the revitalization of Northeast China, and foster a world-class innovation hub for computational mathematics and applied mathematics.
