The Northeast Mathematics Innovation Base is one of the first batch of Innovation Bases under the "Innovation China". Established in 2022 and built on the foundation of the School of Mathematics at Jilin University, it draws on the world-class development of Jilin University’s mathematics discipline and pools the superior resources of national-level research platforms. With the core missions of serving national strategies, boosting the revitalization of Northeast China, and promoting international cooperation, the base focuses on tackling key and core technologies and conducts original and leading scientific research as well as achievement transformation.
Supported by platforms including the Jilin National Center for Applied Mathematics, Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Northeast China, The Sino-Russia Mathematics Center, the base deeply serves local and industrial development. It has carried out joint research with enterprises such as FAW, Changguang Satellite Technology Company Limited, and Huawei company, addressing "bottleneck" challenges including aviation tire simulation. Meanwhile, it conducts high-level international academic exchanges and joint talent cultivation programs. In the future, the base will build a world-class system for applied mathematics research and talent training, strengthen international collaborative innovation, and provide solid scientific and technological support for high-quality development and the all-round revitalization of Northeast China.
